Hashnode

Publish articles to a Hashnode blog with a personal access token, with tags, a subtitle, a cover picture and an original link.

Edit on GitHub

Staqly publishes articles to a Hashnode blog through Hashnode's GraphQL API, signed in with a personal access token. The post's text is the article in Markdown and its Title setting the headline. A published target links to the article on the blog.

Connect the blog

  1. On hashnode.com, open Account settings → Developer and click Generate new token.
  2. In staqly: Channels → Add channel → Hashnode, paste it as Personal access token.
  3. Blog: leave it empty when the account has one blog. With several, enter the blog's address (blog.example.com or janedoe.hashnode.dev) or its id; staqly lists the account's blogs when it needs you to choose. Connect once per blog to publish to several.

The channel shows the blog's name and address.

Limits

Textno limit; Markdown
Mediaone picture, used as the article's cover
Titlerequired

Hashnode takes no uploads: it downloads the cover from a link. Staqly hands it a time-limited link to the file in S3-compatible storage, so on a server that keeps media on its own disk a post with a picture fails and says why (publish it without the picture, or store media in the cloud).

Settings per post

SettingWhat it does
Title (title)The article's headline (required)
Subtitle (subtitle)Shown under the title, up to 150 characters
Tags (tags)Up to 5 tags, by name: Web Development is the tag web-development
Original link (canonical_url)Where the article first appeared, so search engines credit it

When publishing fails

Hashnode saysStaqly does
The token was revoked or is invalidMarks the channel Needs reconnect; generate a new token and reconnect
Rate limit, Hashnode unavailableRetries through the job queue (after 1, 5, then 15 minutes)
A refused article (no permission on the blog, a tag it doesn't take)Fails the target with Hashnode's reason

Hashnode has no way to ask "did this article go out?", and a new attempt would make a second one. So when staqly sent the article but its answer never came, the target fails with "may have published" instead of trying again: check your blog before you post it again.
