Channels

Connect the accounts staqly publishes to, keep them healthy and remove them, from the Channels page.

Edit on GitHub

Channels in the sidebar lists every connected account with its picture, name, handle, platform and status, and is where you add new ones. For what a channel is and what each platform allows, see Channels.

Add a channel

Pick the platform

Click Add channel. The drawer shows the platforms in groups: Your own, Social networks, Video and streaming, Communities and chat, Blogs and newsletters and Business and portfolio: Pick the platform. Greyed ones are on the way. Platforms that are not ready on this server carry a Soon badge and cannot be picked: not built yet, or an OAuth platform whose app keys the server doesn't have. Platforms turned off on the server (PROVIDER_<ID>_ENABLED=false) are not shown at all. Your own automation is always available unless it is turned off the same way.

Connect

  • Token platforms show their credential fields (a bot token, an app password) and a Name. Connect checks the credentials against the platform and saves the channel with the account's name and picture. None is available in this release: they are all Soon.
  • OAuth platforms show Connect with ... (the platform's name), which sends you to the platform and back. The platform's developer app lives in the server's environment (PROVIDER_<ID>_CLIENT_ID and _CLIENT_SECRET in .env), locally and in the cloud; until it is there the platform shows Soon. See Developer apps.
  • Your own automation takes a Name and How posts reach your automation: Send to my endpoint (the default, with the Endpoint URL, Method and Headers Staqly calls) or Let my agents and webhooks pick it up. See Your own automation.

After the platform sends you back, you land on Channels with the new channel in the list, or on The channel was not connected with the platform's error and Back to Channels.

The list

Each row shows the channel's picture, name and status, its platform and handle, and its activity: Last post (how long ago, linking to that post), Next post (the next scheduled one) and how many posts went out on it in the last 30 days, or No posts yet. Hover a time for the exact date.

Groups. Every channel is in one group, for example one group per client; the Default group always exists. With only Default, the list is grouped by platform. New group (next to Add channel) creates another; from then on the list shows one section per group, each folding open and closed, with a group filter above it. A group's menu has Rename and, for every group but Default, Delete group: its channels move to Default after you confirm.

StatusRow
ConnectedReady to publish.
Needs reconnectShown in amber with the last error. Posts targeting it fail until it is reconnected.
DisabledGreyed; it is not offered in the composer and schedules skip it.

Each row's menu has:

ActionWhat it does
SettingsA drawer with the channel's name (the handle stays the account's), its Group (when there is more than one) and Links in posts: keep links, remove them or show them as plain text (X offers only the last two). See Channels.
Move to groupPuts the channel in another group (shown when there is more than one).
Test connectionChecks the stored credentials against the platform now; a failing test marks the channel Needs reconnect.
Disable / EnableTurns the channel off or on without removing it.
ReconnectShown when the channel needs it: OAuth platforms go through the platform again; token platforms take fresh credentials.
Edit connectionYour own automation (and token platforms): change the endpoint, method and headers, or the credentials.
RemoveRemoves the channel. The confirmation warns: Scheduled posts lose this channel. Posts with no other channel become drafts.

Where channels show up

  • In the composer's Channels list, with a character counter and, from two channels on, a tab per picked channel.
  • In a schedule's Channels.
  • On calendar chips and post rows as a stack of avatars; in a post's Delivery section with a status per channel.
  • Plan limits (cloud): 5 channels on Starter, 15 on Plus, 40 on Pro, unlimited on Business. Settings → Plan & usage counts them.

Let someone else connect a channel

The link icon next to Add channel makes a connect link: a client or a colleague without access to Staqly opens it, signs in at the platform and the channel lands in your workspace, in the group you picked. Open links are listed in the same dialog with Revoke.
